SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ Mwadi Mabika scored 23 points and DeLisha Milton had 20 as the Los Angeles Sparks won their 10th straight game, beating Sacramento 76-61 on Wednesday night.

The winning streak is the second longest in WNBA history behind the Houston Comets’ 15-game run in 1998.

Lisa Leslie added 10 points and nine rebounds to help the Sparks (14-2) move within a half-game of first-place Houston in the Western Conference.

Yolanda Griffith had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Monarchs (11-6), who lost for the first time in eight games this season at Arco Arena.

Ahead by two points, Los Angeles ran off 10 straight points late in the second half. Ukari Figgs made a 3-pointer to start the run and Milton also had a 3-pointer as the Sparks took a 70-58 lead with 3:35 remaining.

Ticha Penicheiro added 11 points for the Monarchs.
