SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say a man who was shot at least once in a road rage fight then followed the other driver while talking to police on the phone.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that the shooting happened Thursday after two drivers got into an argument in which punches were thrown. Police Lt. Chad McIntyre says that despite being shot, the injured driver followed the other driver, who later was taken into custody. The wounded driver was taken to a hospital.

Neither driver had a passenger.

McIntyre advised against doing what the injured driver did. He said to "pull over and get medical attention."
