Senior Center holds spring craft sale

May 12, 2019

BULLHEAD CITY – About 14 vendors were present at the Spring Craft Sale held by the River Valley Senior Center on Friday

“We have two crafts sales at the senior center; one in the spring and the other in October,” said Patricia Larsen, River Valley Senior Center president. “The vendors who are here today have donated an item to the raffle which people purchase tickets in order to win those items. We use the sale of the tickets and other donations we receive to fund events that we do here at the senior center.”

Karen Hughes, one of the vendors, had her Scentsy candles and her handmade greeting cards.

“Some of these greeting cards say that they are handmade but they’re not because they use computer programs to do it,” said Hughes. “I do make mine by hand.”

One of the featured vendors was the senior center’s knitting club led by Judy Woller.

“We knit various items all types of items such as hats, scarfs and more,” said Woller.

“We are holding a raffle for three different items and the proceeds of the raffle go to buy more supplies. Every year we knit items for underprivileged children and we have the police department distribute it to them. Our raffle for the three knitted items is going to end July 4 so if people want to purchase a raffle ticket they can contact me. 928-234-5156.”
