Police Probe Possible Abduction In Scranton

January 27, 2019

State police are asking for the public’s help in finding a black Jeep involved in a possible abduction about 2:30 p.m. today in Scranton.

Witnesses near Cedar Avenue’s 400 block saw a white man in his 20s or 30s push a woman, maybe in her 20s with dirty-blond hair, into the vehicle, which was in the Gulf gas station parking lot.

The man then threw a bag into the vehicle and sped out of the parking lot, taking the Central Scranton Expressway out of the city.

Witnesses saw the woman roll down the window and shout, “Help! I’m being kidnapped.”

State police describe the vehicle as a Jeep Cherokee, manufactured between 1990 and 2000, with tinted windows.

Anyone who spots the vehicle or has information about the incident can contact state police at Dunmore by dialing 911 or 570-963-3156.
