February 26, 2015

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — Police are looking for two people who used a hatchet to attack a man in his 60s in a Quincy Center parking garage.

Lt. Rick McCusker says the victim was taken to Boston Medical Center with serious facial and head injuries after the attack at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on the third level of the city-owned Ross Garage.

The victim told police he was heading to his car after work when two men sprayed him in the face with an unknown substance and hit him in the head with a hatchet.

McCusker tells The Patriot Ledger (http://bit.ly/1ETcHzE ) police think the victim was specifically targeted by his assailants. The victim wasn’t robbed.

The bloody hatchet was found at the scene. Witnesses say the assailants may have fled in a blue SUV.
