Lions Club and St. Mary’s Medical Center sponsor 5k

BARBOURSVILLE — The Lions Club of Barboursville and St. Mary’s Medical Center will sponsor a 5K race, Saturday, April 13, at Barboursville Community Park, beginning at 9 a.m. Pre-registration fee is $20 and is open through April 3. Each pre-registrant will receive a t-shirt. Race day registration is $25. Participants may register online at www.tristateracer.com. Participants will compete for Top Female and Top Male awards in each age category, as well as the Top Overall Male and Female runners. Age categories are as follow: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.

Barboursville Lions Club President Charles Buzzard commented, “The 5-K race is a very popular event, which raises funds for many of the Barboursville Lions Club’s projects in the area. We look forward to another successful race in 2019.”

Chartered in 1943, the Barboursville Lions Club is one of 45,000 clubs in 200 countries and is affiliated with Lions Club International.

The club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Barboursville Community Center.
