More on Shaw trade
The Komets acquired forward Brady Shaw, who led the Orlando Solar Bears in scoring, for Aidan Muir and future considerations on Tuesday.
Shaw, 26, had 13 goals and 25 points in 23 games for Orlando this season.
Last season, he helped the Colorado Eagles to the ECHL championship, totaling 14 goals and 27 points in 44 regular-season games, then adding one goal and three points in 13 playoff games.
He has 11 games of experience in the higher-level American Hockey League.
Shaw played at the University of Vermont from 2013 to 2017 and was teammates with current Komets Anthony Petruzzelli and Trey Phillips.
At Vermont, Shaw had 37 goals and 77 points in 142 games.
Muir, a 23-year-old rookie, had a goal and three points in seven games with Fort Wayne, which plays host to the Kalamazoo Wings at 8 p.m. Friday.
