High School Honors Three-Member Senior Class
CAMPBELL, Neb. (AP) _ The high school here may be small, but it has three homecoming queens. Of course, they comprise the entire senior class - and two are exchange students.
About 150 parents, teachers and students attended the homecoming rally and parade Friday in this community of 440 people in south-central Nebraska.
Mariajose Carmona, 18, and Eli Lizardi, 18, both of Mexico, were honored, along with 17-year-old Becky Schmidt of Campbell.
Schmidt was the only local member of her class because other area teen- agers opted to attend schools in larger districts.
After single-handedly planning last year’s junior-senior prom and taking classes in one-on-one settings, Schmidt said she was happy to have classmates again.
″I was excited to have two girls my age to be with instead of just being the only one,″ she said.
