Needles High School important dates

NEEDLES — The 2018-19 school year starts at Needles High School with the first bell at 7:25 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13. The school is along Washington Street.

Registration continues for sophomores on Aug. 8 from 8 a.m. to noon. Freshman orientation is scheduled for Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon. New students are being registered between Aug. 1 and 10: call 760-326-2191 to make an appointment.

Other events coming up:

• Sept. 3, Labor Day, no school;

• Oct. 12, homecoming;

• Oct. 15-19, fall break;

• Nov. 12, Veteran’s Day, no school;

• Nov. 22-23, Thanksgiving break;

• Dec. 20, end of the first semester;

• Dec. 21 through Jan. 4, 2019, winter break;

• March 25-29, Spring Break;

• May 31, 2019, the last day of school and graduation at 8 p.m.

According to NHS staff during registration students may purchase an Associated Student Body (ASB) card for $30.

Yearbooks with the students name on them as a personalization option will be offered for $60 from Aug. 1 through Aug. 31.

After this date yearbooks will be $65 and personalization will be an additional $5. Checks are to be made out to Needles High School.

School locks will be assigned to a locker including gym lockers. Students are responsible for their assigned lock(s) and if the lock is lost there will be a $5 charge to replace it. School IDs will be handed out the first week of school free of charge. Any ID that is reprinted will cost $5, which is charged to the students’ fee account. These fees may be worked off at NHS by the student.
