Kankakee QuiltMakers next monthly meeting is 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at Calvary Bible Church, 2587 E. Armour Road, Bourbonnais.
It’s the “Make It, Bake It, Grow It, Sew It” banquet. Make, bake, grow or sew something and bring it to the banquet for a silent auction. Members also are asked to bring a dish to share.

Kankakee library to host events
The Kankakee Public Library, 201 E. Merchant St., is hosting the following events:
Grape Reads, a special book discussion series, at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Grapes & Hops at 251 S. Schuyler Ave. in Kankakee.
This month’s book selection is “The Cuckoo’s Calling” by Robert Galbraith. A brilliant mystery in a classic vein: Detective Cormoran Strike investigates a supermodel’s suicide.
Tuesday Morning Book Discussion meets at 10 a.m. every second Tuesday of each month in the third-floor meeting room. The book for December, “News of the World” by Paulette Jiles, is currently available on the first floor of the library.
The program is free and open to the public. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Limestone library to host events
The Limestone Township Library District, 2701 W. Tower Road, Kankakee, is hosting the following events:
Monarch Book Club — 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Book club for children in grades 1-3. They will read a book at the gathering time and have a crafting session.Christmas Cookies Decorating — 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. For all third- to eighth-graders. There is no fee for this program, and all supplies are provided.Parent’s Day Out —10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Parents can go Christmas shopping without their children seeing their gifts.
Just bring your children to the library for a small fee of $5 to play games, eat lunch and make their very own Christmas gifts. Registration is required. There is a form that must be filled out at the library and turned in for registration.
