WHS swimmers end season at Waukesha South sectional
WAUKESHA — Watertown’s girls swim team completed its season with a ninth place finish at the Waukesha South sectional on Saturday.
The Goslings placed in the top 10 in four events and scored 85.5 points on the day.
Junior Megan Woodward had the team’s highest finish, placing seventh in the 50 freestyle in a personal best time of 24.88 seconds. The 400 freestyle relay team of sophomore Katie Johnson, freshman Hailey Mauel, senior Georgia Bailey and Woodward took eighth in 4:01.28. All four swimmers posted personal best splits.
The 200 medley relay team of freshman Raigan Good, senior Samantha Rupprecht, Johnson and Woodward finished ninth in 2:03.01. Good and Johnson swam personal best splits.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Rupprecht, senior Adri Hady, Bailey and Mauel placed tenth in 1:54.31. Rupprecht and Hady swam personal bests.
Other personal bests included Hady in the 200 freestyle (2:24.54) and 100 backstroke (1:15.45); freshman Maura Prochaska in the 50 freestyle (29.68) and 100 freestyle (1:05.49); Rupprecht in the 50 freestyle (28.07); senior Emma Iverson in the 100 butterfly (1:11.34); Woodward in the 100 freestyle (55.20); sophomore Shelby Webber in the 100 freestyle (1:05.52) and 100 breaststroke (1:24.60); Bailey in the 500 freestyle (6:05.51); Johnson in the 100 backstroke (1:09.81); and Good in the 100 backstroke (1:11.78).
