Heaviest rain over, but skies won’t clear until evening

After a morning of heavy rain, skies were expected to clear by Thursday evening.

The Triangle was expected to see between a half-inch to an inch of rain on Thursday.

Rain will continue throughout 2 p.m., but skies will clear and the sun will come out by 3 p.m.

Winds are expected to pick up Thursday afternoon, and after a morning in the 60s, temperatures will drop into the 50s by the evening.

Freezing temperatures are expected overnight.

Friday’s and Saturday’s highs will be in the upper 40s.

Sunday’s high will be in the low 50s, and temperatures are expected to climb to the mid-50s on Monday.
