Deadly McKees Rocks shooting likely stemmed from feud, police say

August 8, 2018

Authorities investigate the scene of a fatal shooting in McKees Rocks on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018.

A fatal shooting Wednesday in McKees Rocks likely resulted from an ongoing feud between the shooter and the victim, Allegheny County police said Thursday.

Richard Price, 27, of Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood, was pronounced dead at about 9:15 p.m. at Allegheny General Hospital, about 45 minutes after he was shot at at the Hays Manor Housing Complex, authorities said.

Police responded just after 8:30 p.m. to a report of a man shot near the complex’s Community Center, said Sgt. Ken Ruckel.

Price had been shot in the chest, Rucksel said. Paramedics transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said Price likely knew his killer, and they believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing feud.
