September 22, 2018

MILTON — Maya Heckmann took Rock Valley Player of the Year honors in girls golf following her second-place finish at Tuesday’s RVC Championships.

Heckmann shot a 90 to finish two strokes back of East Troy’s Caroline Christiansen. Her average of 43.89 strokes per round was over two better than Jefferson’s Bre DeBlare (46.00).

DeBlare was followed by Courtney Draeger (103), Ainsley Howard (103), Hailey Milbrath (105) and Megan Gleisner (108, scratch). Draeger joined DeBlare on the first team for the Eagles, who led the league until the final day.

Other Lakeside scores were provided by Grace Thomas (103), Maddison Fenner (104), Rebecca Lang (106) and Ella Butzine (110, scratch). Lang earned second team all-RVC for her efforts.
