AP is moving election test reports for the November 6, (Wyoming) general election starting on Monday, October 8:

Mondays from 1-3 p.m. EDT, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. MDT (two hours) and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-3 p.m. EDT, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. MDT (four hours).

Last election test is on Monday, Nov. 5 from 11-3 p.m. EST, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. MST (four hours). No winners will be called during the last test.

BILLINGS, Mont. — U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has scheduled a Monday visit to Montana, where he’s expected to finalize a proposal to block new mining claims on public lands near Yellowstone National Park. Zinke spokeswoman Heather Swift said Thursday that Zinke will make a “major announcement” about conservation of lands in the Paradise Valley area. By Matthew Brown. SENT: 390 words.


— WYOMING WILDFIRES-CHENEY — Wyoming U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney is reaching out to residents who lost homes in a destructive wildfire south of Bondurant. The Republican attended a community meeting Tuesday night and told residents that her office will do everything possible to help them.

— ABSENTEE VOTERS-NEW BALLOTS — Absentee voters living within a Wyoming school district will receive new ballots for the upcoming November election after an error was discovered on the initial ones. The Cody Enterprise reports the Park County Clerk’s Office announced Tuesday that staff are mailing out replacement absentee ballots after discovering an error limited to ballots that had already been sent to voters in the race for Cody School District Board of Trustees.



LARAMIE — The good news for Wyoming’s men’s basketball team is the Cowboys have started the Allen Edwards era with the momentum of back-to-back 20-win seasons. The bad news? Many of the contributors that helped get that going are no longer around. Wyoming opened practice last week having to replace more than half of its scoring and rebounding from last season in Hayden Dalton, Alan Herndon and Cody Kelley, all of whom are out of eligibility.
