4 hurt when speeding pickup crashes into Detroit bus stop
DETROIT (AP) — Police say three people waiting at a Detroit bus stop were hit by a pickup truck after its driver lost control of the vehicle.
Police say the driver was speeding Tuesday afternoon on the city’s west side, crossed the median and crashed into the bus stop, knocking the shelter over.
Police say the driver and the three pedestrians — two men and a woman — were taken to a hospital. Their conditions weren’t immediately available.
Cmdr. Nick Kyriacou tells WDIV-TV it doesn’t appear the pedestrians had much of a chance “to react to what was occurring.”
Health officials didn’t release the conditions of the victims.
It’s not clear why the driver lost control of the pickup truck.
