SB Adams bests NP, MC in girls track tri

South Bend Adams topped host New Prairie and Michigan City 67-52-47 in a girls track triangular Wednesday. Gemma Dillon (high jump), Haley Wykoff (pole vault), Brianna Hooten (400) and Callie Metzgar (800) were NP’s winners. Naomi and Joani Ashley paced the Wolves, Naomi taking the 100 with Joani the 200 and long jump, while both did legs on the first-place 400 relay. City’s Riley Plummer captured the 100 hurdles.

NP’s Corbett shines in boys quad meet

Penn bested Michigan City, South Bend Adams and New Prairie, 83-56-50-47, in a boys track quadrangular Wednesday at New Prairie. Jacob Corbett accounted for both Cougars’ firsts in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Tim O’Laughlin was runner-up in both events. Brandon Corbett and Tim Wykoff joined them in the runner-up 3,200 relay and Tyler Graeber was second in the long jump.

Slicers JV softball routs Westville

Regan Hague pitched a complete game shutout and Grace Arnett clubbed two home runs in LaPorte’s 10-0 victory over Westville in JV softball on Thursday. Hague allowed five hits and struck out seven. Abby Hall, Jill Maudlin, Shanna VanVleet and Janaye Bennitt all went 2-for-3, while Nikki Burke went 3-for-4.

LP Soccer Club Spring sign-ups

La Porte Soccer Club still has a few openings on the U10, U12 and U14 travel teams. LP Soccer Club is for boys and girls age U4 through U14.
