MAR IAN FRANCES BARNABA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 85, of Newark Ohio, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, in Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 5, 1933, in Huntington, to the late Louis and Clara Hickok Adams. Marian spent her working career in various administrative positions with Newark businesses and the Defense Department and volunteered for over 33 years at the Licking Memorial Hospital there. She enjoyed music and singing, jigsaw puzzles, beach vacations and spoiling her pets. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim; three sons, Tom (Cheryl) of Hilliard Ohio, Joe (Marla) of Granville Ohio, and Jim (Lorie) of Bellbrook Ohio; six grandchildren; five great-grandsons; and one brother, Bob Adams of Huntington, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and David Adams, and three sisters, Florence Spence, Thelma Ballangee and Eleanor Lykins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive SW, Heath, OH 43056, and/or Licking Memorial Hospital, Honorary and Memorial Giving Program, Volunteer Program, 1320 W. Main St., Newark, OH 43055. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, where the funeral service will be Saturday, January 19, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Pastor Scott Campbell will officiate the service and burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
