Fundraiser for McDonald teen’s family nears $60,000 in just a day
Friends, family, community members and one very generous -- and anonymous -- donor are joining together to support the family of a 13-year-old McDonald boy who died after an Aug. 18 crash.
A GoFundMe page set up Aug. 19 to benefit the family of Cody Stickley of McDonald has raised nearly $60,000 only a day after being created, including $20,000 from an anonymous donor.
“To put into words our love for Cody is an impossible feat,” the page reads. “We ask that you help his parents, Jason and Kristin, and his younger brother, Cooper, in their time of need.”
More than 400 people had donated to the fund as of early Monday evening.
Stickley died from injuries suffered when his dirt bike crashed on Kelso Road near Imperial.
