COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting on the campus of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reports 22-year-old Micahi Hughes, of Colorado Springs, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder. The 19-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was shot Wednesday night in a parking lot at the center housing the university's pre-school.

Friends took him to a hospital, where he died.

The Family Development Center was closed Thursday because of the shooting investigation, but the rest of the campus was open.

Online jail records do not indicate if Hughes has hired an attorney.
