First Presbyterian Church to host special advent service
HUNTINGTON — First Presbyterian Church’s Orchestra and Choir will lead a special Advent Worship Service Sunday, Dec. 9, at 10:45 a.m. Under the direction of Dale Capehart, the choir and a 20-piece orchestra will perform both traditional and contemporary selections.
The service will begin with a stirring arrangement “Every Valley,” by Joseph Martin. Throughout the service, the choir and orchestra will perform six other musical selections the including contemporary arrangement, “People Look East,” and traditional numbers “Do you Hear What I Hear, ” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “Angels We Have Heard On High,” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.” The Choir and Orchestra will close the service with “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”
Head of Staff, Rev. Skip Seibel, will deliver the morning message, “Through the Eyes of Mary-Bewildered and Afraid,” based upon Mark 3:20-35. Elder, Angela Konrad will provide a special Children’s Message. Coffee, juice, and pastries will be served in the Atrium prior to worship. The church is located at 1015 Fifth Avenue, with ample parking in their Sixth Avenue lots.
