Cornerback Charged With Driving Under Influence
CHICAGO (AP) _ A June 7 court date has been set for Chicago Bears cornerback Donnell Woolford, who is charged with driving under the influence, police said Wednesday.
Woolford, a Bears first-round pick in 1989 who played in the Pro Bowl after the 1993 season, was arrested Saturday in suburban Lincolnshire after a police officer spotted him driving in the wrong lane on state Route 22, said police Sgt. John Kleffner.
Woolford failed a field sobriety test, then refused a Breathalyzer test and was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage, Kleffner said.
Woolford surrendered his driver’s license, posted $100 bail and was released, police said.
Woolford could not be reached for comment.
