Teachers encourage students
One of the things I enjoy most about Lutheran High Northeast (LHNE) is the care that the faculty gives to you.
Coming into a new school year can be rough even if you are comfortable. We all know that a new school year isn’t necessarily appealing to all. But LHNE, I am always excited to start every day by seeing a friendly staff member.
This is because, as a student, the staff does so much for you as an individual student. They take their jobs very seriously and always invest in you as a person.
As a student at LHNE, I greatly appreciate my teachers. I am a student with many questions and they are always willing to answer. They help students work hard to get their education and make it clear that they also care about their futures as a person. If someone has a question before the first period, teachers don’t hesitate to help.
My teachers encourage students in classes to work hard when I feel as though algebra is pointless and history class seems to be just facts. They communicate the importance of building yourself up as a person, not just attaining a good grade.
Everyone on staff encourages students to be involved, too. They always find something for a student to enjoy, whether it be athletic activities, speech, the drama club, mock trial or other opportunities. The faculty at LHNE always finds a place for someone to belong at school and go to great lengths to make sure that student and family is content at school.
This is one of the things I like best at my school because without that encouragement and confidence teachers have provided, students do not work as hard or believe in themselves to accomplish great goals. Because this healthy atmosphere exists between students and staff, both work hard to better their own lives and the lives of others around them — even if it is simply through education.
Students enjoy walking in the door and seeing people work hard for them. This includes the custodians who also keep us happy and healthy.
Going into a new school year, I enjoy walking into a climate that is friendly and encouraging. This is one of the best things that I and other students enjoy about my school.
