Letter: All kids deserve the opportunity to succeed
I am disturbed that the Post Bulletin would publish the Nov. 13 column by Malcolm Berko. His premise that a 10-year-old who earns B’s or C’s is not worthy of a college education is reprehensible. He goes on to tell his parents to forget about their child going to college.
He also suggests that for many kids, college is a waste of money and time and that college professors teach because they couldn’t make it in the “real” world.
All our children deserve the opportunity to succeed. A child need not be judged by their 10-year-old self. Students can learn and grow.
Further, the tangential path the author takes was problematic and offensive.
