Man rescued after ATV overturns in North Huntingdon

November 18, 2018

A North Huntingdon man was rescued by firefighters Sunday afternoon after an all-terrain vehicle overturned, trapping him in a wooded area.

Circleville Fire Chief Craig Couchenour said the man was taken to a hospital for treatment by North Huntingdon EMS. Firefighters were called to Myers Lane around 2 p.m. after reports that the man was trapped in a muddy ravine. Rescuers accessed the network of trails from Willow Drive.

“This was the best access point to get him out of the woods,” Couchenour said.

Westmoreland City firefighters helped with their utility vehicles on the tough wooded terrain and rescuers used a jack to free the man from his vehicle, he said.
