Little League: Zalewski, Abington American Advance

Reese Zalewski hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning to give

Abington American a 2-1 win over North Scranton in the

District 17/32 City-County baseball tournament Monday.

Abington American will play at East Scranton in the City Championship on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Jake Lenehan and Connor Griffin both doubled for Abington American and Lenehan struck out eight in 4⅔ innings.

Mark Ottone had two hits for North Scranton, Jason Selemba doubled and Brian Kellogg struck out 10.

East Scranton 14

South Scranton 2

At East Scranton, four pitchers combined on a four-hitter to lead East Scranton.

Billy Maloney and Aidan Graff each had two hits for the winners.

Carbino Club 5, Throop 1

At Throop, Zach Smith had three hits as Carbino Club advanced to the County Championship.

Christian Sweeney and winning pitcher Brian Turlip each had two hits for Carbino Club and Zach Cwalinski tripled.

Lorenzo Hernandez had a double for Throop.

Carbino Club will play at Abington National on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for the County Championship.

Abington National 10, Dunmore 0

At Ackerly Field, Ryan Nealon tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and also went

3 for 3 with a double and a homer to lead Abington National.

Will Ramey had two doubles for the winners and Colin Price also doubled.

Max Forgione had a double for Dunmore.
