BOXBORO -- Two people were arrested after a gunshot was fired during an altercation Wednesday night, according to a police press release.

Police responded to calls on Davidson Road in Boxboro around 11 p.m. Wednesday after nearby residents reported hearing gunshots, police said. Officers determined that two individuals had become involved in an altercation, and although neither was injured, a gun was fired at one point.

Kyle Jon Bailey, 31, of Boxboro, and Hannah M. Langley, 29, of Fitchburg, were arrested following the incident. Police allege that Bailey fired the gun outside his home and that Langley was found in possession of prescription drugs and had several arrest warrants.

Bailey was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to murder while armed with a firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and carrying a loaded firearm without a license. Langley was charged with possession of a Class B substance and was also held on an existing arrest warrant in Fitchburg on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of a burglarious instrument, larceny of a motor vehicle and breaking and entering into a vehicle during the daytime to commit a felony.

Police said there is no danger to the public, although there will be a police presence near Davidson Road and Nashoba Drive during the ongoing investigation.

Bailey and Langley were held by police awaiting Thursday’s arraignment in Ayer District Court.
