Officials give snow plowing advice
As winter sets in more and more across the area, Ludington city and Mason County officials are reminding residents to be mindful of where they clear snow to when they’re plowing and shoveling.
People should make sure they don’t move snow onto other people’s property without permission from the property owner. People are also prohibited from moving snow from their private property to public streets or onto other city property.
“If you’re clearing your driveway, don’t throw snow into the street. It’s actually by ordinance. You have to keep your snow on private property,” said Joe Stickney, Ludington Department of Public Works superintendent.
