The three-time NL MVP will be 39 years old when next season begins. He still has three seasons remaining on his 10-year, $240 million contract.

The team said X-rays were negative and further testing would be done as necessary. The major league-leading Red Sox open a four-game series tonight in Chicago against the White Sox. CINCINNATI (AP) — Wade Miley tries to remain perfect at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park this afternoon when he starts the Brewers' final game of a series against the Reds. The left-hander beat the Reds 3-1 in his Brewers debut at Cincinnati in May. Miley is 4-0 in four career starts at Great American with a 2.51 ERA. Lefty Cody Reed makes his second start of the season for the Reds.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has signed a four-year contract extension with the Green Bay Packers that makes him the highest-paid player in the NFL once again. The four-year deal is worth $134 million, with more than $100 million in guaranteed money. The deal keeps the two-time NFL MVP under contract through the 2023 season.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Jimbo Fisher makes his debut at Texas A&M on tonight against Northwestern State in what will be his team's only tuneup before a huge test on Sept. 8 against second-ranked Clemson. The coach left Florida State for a 10-year, $75 million contract with the Aggies that comes with the expectation that he'll elevate Texas A&M into college football's elite.
