A 38-year-old Bedford man was pronounced dead early Friday after a logging accident in Paint Township.

Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller said that Troy Lankey was pronounced dead at 2:05 a.m. along Blough Road after a branch came loose and struck him.

Miller said the man was self-employed and was working alone at the time of injury.

Miller said the cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
