Raleigh man charged with battery of unborn child

March 29, 2019

A Raleigh man is facing charges after police said he assaulted a pregnant woman in January.

Jordan Dominique Miles, 27, of 1515 N. Raleigh Blvd., is charged with battery of an unborn child and assault on a female.

According to an arrest warrant, the charges stem from a Jan. 14 incident in which Miles threw a shelf at a woman who was eight months pregnant. The shelf struck the woman in the side of her stomach, the warrant said.

Miles was arrested Thursday and was being held at the Wake County jail. He is scheduled to appear in court April 9.
