Two found dead after Junction flood

October 12, 2018

Two people who were swept away in a flood in Junction earlier this week were found dead Thursday, officials said.

The bodies were spotted around 2 p.m. by search crews about 9 miles downstream from an RV park that was washed away by the flood, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service, which has been searching for the bodies.

The authorities did not identify the victims. Two people remain missing.

Nearly a foot of rain Monday morning caused the South Llano River to overflow its banks, all but washing away the South Llano River RV Park in Junction and forcing evacuations and rescues.

Three pipeline workers who were living at the RV park were among those missing.
