RENO, Nev. (AP) _ Kesha Wade scored 22 points and Toby Metoyer had four in overtime Wednesday to lift Long Beach State to a 79-69 overtime win over Nevada in the opening round of the Big West Tournament.
Long Beach State (11-16) sent the game into overtime tied at 61 when Ember Brown, who had 15 points, sank a 17-footer with one second left.
Metoyer, who finished with 13 points, sank a basket and Wade followed with two free throws to give the 49ers a four point lead in the opening minutes of overtime.
Nevada’s Ieesha Donadelle scored a field goal to cut the lead to 65-63 but that was as close as the Wolf Pack (13-13) got.
Long Beach will play the winner of the UC Irvine-New Mexico game. Tomike Cantley had 16 points for Long Beach and Wade pulled down a game high 14 rebounds.
Shawna Franceschini led Nevada with 18 points, followed by Donadelle and Jelena Zrnic with 11 each.
