A 15-yard touchdown catch by Brandon Buchanan gave Brown a 12-7 second quarter lead, but Rhode Island scored on its next possession when quarterback Vince Nedimyer scored on a 70-yard run to put Rhode Island up 13-12.

Brown took an 18-13 lead into halftime after Campbells’ 18-yard touchdown catch.

Brown took control on a 19-yard field goal by Sean Jensen early in the second half and a 20-yard touchdown run by Michael Malan in the fourth quarter. Rhode Island finished the scoring on Nchendia Tajong’s 3-yard touchdown with 9:30 remaining.
