KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) _ Atlanta’s Zane Smith pitched five shutout innings and Ken Oberkfell had two hits and an RBI on Monday to lead the Braves to a 2-1 exhibition victory over Houston.

Mike Scott, 2-1, took the loss, giving up both Atlanta runs in the sixth inning. Scott pitched seven innings and gave up five hits.

Oberkfell’s single drove home Albert Hall with Atlanta’s first run. Terry Blocker, who reached base on a bunt, scored the second run on a fielder’s choice grounder by Dion James.

Houston’s run came in the bottom of the sixth when Billy Hatcher singled, stole second took third on Rafael Ramierez’s groundout and scored on Bill Doran’s ground out.

The run was off Atlanta reliever Bruce Sutter, pitching his second inning of the spring.
