Susquehanna River Expected To Crest Below Flood Stage

Rain and melting snow and ice are creating messy conditions throughout the Wyoming Valley today. Despite the conditions, the Susquehanna River should stay within its banks. The river is expected to crest at 16.7 feet in Wilkes-Barre at 7 p.m. Friday according to the National Weather Service. The river stage was 9.29 feet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Flood stage is 22 feet.
