Longmont Installs New Traffic Signal at E. Ken Pratt and Fairview
Longmont will turn on a new traffic signal at the intersection of Colo. 119/East Ken Pratt Boulevard and Fairview Street on Tuesday night, city officials announced.
Traffic volumes at the intersection warranted the new signal at that intersection, which is southeast of the site where J.M. Smucker LLC is building a new production facility that will use the intersection as a primary access point to that plant, officials said.
Construction of the Smucker’s plant is expected to be completed by late 2019.
Longmont worked with the Colorado Department of Transportation to develop the plans and review this new signalized intersection. The total cost of the project is $360,000 and is being funded by a $250,000 Colorado Department of Local Affairs grant and $110,000 of matching city funds.
