Hawk, Rojas miss record-setting cut in Missouri
A strong round wasn’t enough for Lake Havasu City anglers Roy Hawk and Dean Rojas to keep pace with the record-setting top half of Group A on Table Rock Lake in the elimination round on Sunday in Branson, Missouri.
Hawk made a push in the stage’s second round, catching 22 bass at a weight of 34 pounds, 9 ounces to increase his total weight to 59-14, but it was only enough to get him to 34th place.
Rojas caught 14 fish weighing 22-12 in the round to increase his weight to 53-2 and finish in 36th. Phoenix’s Brett Hite also missed the cut, finishing with 31 fish over two days at a weight of 51-10 in 37th place in the group.
