CHARLENE HUNT BRADLEY, 77, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away August 1, 2018, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a short illness. Charlene was born March 4, 1941, in Stone, Kentucky, to the late Richard F. Hunt and Sarah Ellen “Boots” Hunt Dandurand. Charlene is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Bradley; her sister, Connie Sue Hunt Bevins; and her brother, Charles “Bud” Hunt. “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” — 1 John 4:9-11. The happiest times for Charlene were when she was surrounded by her children and family or when she was helping someone in need. Friend or stranger, it did not matter as long as she could help them in some way. Her heart overflowed with love for all. Every good deed she ever did was selfless. She never expected anything in return. What a rare trait she possessed. A simple thank you and to know she made someone’s day better was more than enough for her. Her precious hand could wipe a tear from our cheek, and with a hug, and loving word, she would begin the mending of our broken hearts. Those of us who had her as a mother, family member or friend, received a true blessing from God. She was an example of the love that God wants us all to have for one another. Charlene is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Loretta) Eaton of Statesville, North Carolina, and Richard Russell (Lisa) Eaton, of Hurricane, West Virginia; her grandchildren, Kenneth Michael Eaton of Williamson, West Virginia and Christen Taylor Eaton of Hurricane, West Virginia, her great-grandchild; Ryder Slone, of Delbarton, West Virginia, her sisters; Geneva (John) Moon of Stone, Kentucky, Rhonda (Dwight) Stacy of Belfry, Kentucky, Darlena (Colin) Berry of Williamson, West Virginia and Patsy “Penny” Hunt of Belfry, Kentucky; her brother, Jeffrey Hunt of Charleston, West Virginia; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-sons, Donald Joe (Vicki) Bradley and Charles (Christina) Bradley, and their children DJ Bradley and Danielle Bradley and Nikole Bradley and Joe Bradley. The family will receive guests from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Ky. A funeral service will follow immediately. R.E.
