Mom Charged After TV Crushes Baby
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ A baby was crushed to death by a television set that was knocked down during a fight involving his 18-year-old mother and her fiance.
April Askew and her boyfriend, Bryan Price, 19, were charged Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide, an offense punishable by up to six years in prison, police said.
Brandon Moore, who was 10-months-old, died Tuesday of head injuries sustained when the 32-inch TV fell on him during the fight.
The argument began when Price, who was not the baby’s father, went to Askew’s house and found another man there, police said. It escalated when he tried to take back his engagement ring, according to investigators.
