WVC VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Goodwin Posts Double-double In Tigers Win

At Berwick, Molly Goodwin (12 digs, 11 kills), Jena Simmons (19 digs, four kills) and Megan Straley (23 digs, seven kills) paced Tunkhannock in its four-set win.

Dana Macko recorded six kills and four digs for the Tigers. Annalise Verbeek had 25 assists.

Glorimar Guzman had 20 digs and Alexis Hunsinger notched eight kills, but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs. Leah Watts added 19 assists and seven digs for the Dawgs, while Shaniyah Powell had two aces and two blocks.

Nanticoke Area 3, MMI Prep 0

At Nanticoke Area, Carly Reakes registered 24 assists with three blocks, three digs and a kill for the victorious Trojanettes.

Jilann Baron had nine kills, six digs, five aces and two blocks for Nanticoke Area. Alyssa Lewis added 13 kills, five aces and five digs, while Rayza Ruiz had 10 kills and five digs.

MMI’s Summer Evancho had five kills, three service points and two aces. Elise Hreha had two aces, two digs and two kills.

Valley West 3, GAR 0

At GAR, Sidney Scarcella had 18 service points, seven aces and four kills, helping Valley West sweep its way to a road win.

The Spartans’ Rhena Lauver had seven service points, six kills and three aces. Karlee Peters had eight service points and three aces.GAR’s Maria Fonseca notched four service points and an ace. Skylynn Gonzalez had six assists and two aces.

Delaware Valley 3, Crestwood 0

At Delaware Valley, the Warriors cruised to a sweep on their home court against Crestwood.

The Comets’ Kristen Kania had three kills, three assists and three service points. Carly Bono had two digs and two points.

North Pocono 3, Pittston Area 1

At North Pocono, Ava Craig’s 16 kills, Madison Opalka’s 29 assists and a pair of aces from Lilly Thompson, Alahnna Balbach and Opalka led North Pocono to the win.

Balbach added six kills, and Thompson had five.
