Storm warning: Huntington, Wells
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Huntington and Wells counties until 6:15 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m., a severe storm was seven miles south of Andrews, moving southeast at 35 mph, the weather service said. It said 60 mph wind gusts were part of the storm, and damage to roofs, siding and trees was expected.
Locations in the path of the storm include Warren, Lancaster, Nottingham, Poneto, Mount Etna, Plum Tree, Majenica and Keystone. This includes Interstate 69 between Marion and Warren.
The weather service recommended moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, it said. and may lead to flash flooding. The weather service urged motorists not to drive through flooded roadways.
