NEWPORT, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont police department says it’s going to charge a man in connection with an assault and robbery that occurred outside at a home in Newport.

Police say they’re looking for Lucas Putvain, who they consider dangerous. They say residents should not approach him. Police say the 31-year-old’s charged with assault and robbery and other charges because of a robbery that happened at 4 a.m. on Nov. 22.

Police say Putvain and another person approached a man in his driveway, ordered him into a vehicle and held him at gunpoint before driving away and demanding money. The victim was then pushed out of the vehicle. Police did not identify the victim or say how much was stolen.

Newport police ask anyone with knowledge of Putvain’s location to call 802-334-6733.
