Jefferson soccer beats River Valley, Richland Center in triangular
RIVER VALLEY — Jefferson’s boys soccer team went 2-0 at the River Valley triangular on Saturday.
The Eagles defeated River Valley 4-1. Aaron Heine scored two goals for Jefferson. Edward Serrano had a goal and an assist. Reese Fetherston scored for the Eagles early in the second half.
“Our first game at River Valley went very fast and we played very aggressive from the get go,” Jefferson boys soccer coach Samuel El-Beri said. “We switched fields throughout the game. We played direct and line balls the entire game.
We scored four goals and we held possession even when we subbed players in.”
Jefferson defeated Richland Center 1-0 in the second match. Heine scored the only goal of the match in the 13th minute off an assist by Serrano.
Eagles keeper Hayden Radloff finished the two matches with five saves total.
“The second game, we didn’t play like I wanted due to back to back games and sometime the way the mind set is, like that should be an easy game for us, but we play on their level,” El-Beri said. “We did score early but we should have done better. We manage to win the tournament and return home without any injuries.”
Jefferson (10-2-3 overall) travels to play East Troy/Palmyra-Eagle today.
