Pill-mill Doctor Gets More Than 27 Years In Prison

WILKES-BARRE — A Pike County physician who ran a “pill mill” out of his pain management practice was sentenced Wednesday morning to 27½ years in prison. Dr. Fuhai Li, of Milford, was convicted last year of 32 counts related to illegally prescribing excessive amounts of opioids to multiple patients, including a pregnant woman and a woman who fatally overdosed. Li’s medical license is suspended. Senior U.S. District Judge A. Richard Caputo handed down the sentence in the federal courthouse in Wilkes-Barre. Check back for updates
