Man struck by Moore County deputy’s patrol car
A pedestrian was injured after being stuck by a Moore County deputy’s vehicle Thursday night.
Authorities said the man had stepped out in front of the patrol car while crossing U.S. Highway 1 near Johnson Street at about 9:30 p.m.
The man was taken to First Health Moore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 1 were closed for over an hour following the crash.
The incident comes one day after a pedestrian was struck by a Wake County deputy’s patrol vehicle in Raleigh.
Authorities said the deputy involved in that crash was not at fault, and that the pedestrian was not using a crosswalk.
