A celebration of music
The AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival commenced Friday afternoon inside Peoples Natural Gas Park in downtown Johnstown. Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers performed from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the Bud Light Stage under the Polacek Pavilion. The band combines old-time, bluegrass, “jamgrass,” rockabilly and swing music to create its sound. Gary Antol (on guitar) formed the band in 2014 alongside Libby Eddy (fiddle). Also pictured is upright bass player Evan Bell, a former member of Hackensaw Boys. The festival will continue Saturday; festival hours are 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Pure Prairie League and Blues Traveler will headline Saturday night. For more information, visit www.floodcitymusic.com.
