Parthun announces candidacy for Clerk-Treasurer

La PORTE — Republican Courtney Parthun has announced her candidacy for Clerk-Treasurer in the 2019 City of La Porte municipal primary election.

“I’m thrilled to embark on this campaign,” Parthun said. “I understand the vision, intention and action it takes to work collaboratively toward our city’s progress and growth.

“Most importantly, my heart is in it,” she said. “I planted my personal and professional roots in the City of La Porte long ago. Like many, I feel a personal stake in the growth and success of our city.”

A La Porte High School and Indiana University (Bloomington) graduate, Parthun brings more than 15 years of La Porte-based financial, operations and human resource management experience, serving in management roles for !st Source Bank and Sterno Delivery.

Currently, Parthun represents We Connect, a new La Porte-based Employer Resource Network and nonprofit focused on helping employers engage, empower and retain employees.

As a community-focused citizen and professional, Parthun has served as a past president of the La Porte Jaycees, is a member of the Rotary Club of La Porte and a mentor for Slicer Champions - School Based Mentoring Program. She has been the recipient of several awards for her community and professional efforts, including the 1st Source Bank Ernestine Raclin Community Leadership Award and the 1st Source Bank Partners in Business Award.

Parthun and her husband Chris reside in the City of La Porte with daughter MaKayla, 14 and son Cole, 2.
