MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL Purple Knights fall to Saint Anselm
BRIDGEPORT — The undefeated Saint Anselm men’s basketball team used a 20-10 run to open the second half and pull away with a 94-79 non-conference win over Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon at Hubbell Gymnasium.
The Purple Knights (5-6) led 40-37 at halftime, but the Hawks (9-0) outscored the home team 57-39 in the second half, led by Chris Paul, who scored 20 of his game-high 27 points after the halftime break.
Bakary Camara scored 20 points to lead four starters in double figure scoring for Bridgeport. Hashem Abbas scored 16 points, Eric Rankin 15 and Travis Robinson-Morgan 11 in the loss.
Saint Anselm made 11 three-pointers in the game (11-for-19, 57.9 percent), led by four from Cody Ball (12 points) and three by Gustav Suhr-Jessen (20 points, 12 rebounds).
