South Carolina couple die in wreck; 3 others hurt
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A married couple has died and three other people were hurt in a wreck in South Carolina.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened late Wednesday morning in northern Richland County.
Coroner Gary Watts said autopsies were planned Thursday. The victims’ names have not been released yet.
Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern said the wreck happened at an intersection when the victims’ car was struck by a vehicle that had run off the road.
The three people in the other vehicle were taken to a Columbia hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Southern said all five people were wearing seat belts.
There is no word yet on whether charges will be filed.
